We dream of a church where we reach new people in bold ways for Christ so they become bold people living a new way in Christ.

Check out what's happening this week at Genesis...

Note From The Pastor
First of all, I have had a great time this summer exploring "Jesus' Greatest Hits" with everyone at Genesis.  Even though I am the one who picked the scriptures in the first place, I have learned a lot from the gospels, and from you, these past couple of months.

We still have two more weeks to go with "Jesus' Greatest Hits," but I am also looking forward to our next series beginning on Sunday, September 12th.  From then until the beginning of the Advent season, we are going to embark on a new journey together as we explore the Book of Genesis.  I am calling this series "In the Beginning: Genesis at Genesis", and we are going to spend eleven Sundays reading and thinking about the great stories from the very first book of the Bible.  We are going to start at the very the beginning with the story of Creation, and we are going to continue through the stories of the Garden and the Flood and the tower of Babel, all the while learning about Noah and Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and a few others along the way as well.

It is my hope that by studying Genesis (the book), we might even learn more about Genesis (the church).

If this is something that sounds interesting to you, why don't you invite a friend or a neighbor to come out and be a part of this journey with us? I am looking forward to our time together.

Michael

LABOR DAY COOK-OUT BLOWOUT !

Have you decided yet?  Have you decided how you will serve our church and community during our Labor Day Cook-Out Blowout?  Do you want to serve meals?  Will you serve poolside?  Are you a "grillmaster"?  How about helping the children on the inflatable?  Set-up?  Clean-up?  This will be great fun all weekend!  Check out the poster in the Welcome Center this Sunday, and sign up where you decide to serve!
Email Lynn Harrison and let us know that you are interested in volunteering.

Angel Food Ministries provides food relief for families or individuals. You can place your order in the church office or with Tracey Weaver or online at www.angelfoodministries.com.  Even if you aren't interested for food for yourself, please consider giving a small donation to help purchase a box for needy families in our area. Local school children won't get hot lunches during the summer break - a Signature Box ($30) could feed a family for up to a month. August orders are due by August 17. Pick up your order for August on Saturday, August 28 at the church from 9:00 - 10:30 AM (bring a box or other container please).
Beginning with the August order, 5% sales tax will be added to each order. Angel Food Ministries can no longer afford to absorb the cost of the sales tax.
